Aspiring Leaders Course - Autumn 2026

Then this course is for you! 

A team of experienced tutors, who have been in your shoes, will guide you through core issues in school leadership including motivation; shared leadership; psychology of leadership; working with parents; key DEY. documents - SSE & LAOS; Authentic leadership; and moral purpose.

In this accessible hybrid course, you will learn about the basics of school leadership which will equip you to discern for yourself what effective school leadership looks like and what it means to you.

Course outline:

  • September 24th (Online 4pm-6pm): Introduction to a Values-based Leadership - Leading from the Heart
  • October 1st (In-person Limerick ESC 5pm-7pm): Stepping into School Leadership: Authentic Leadership
  • October 8th (Online 4pm-6pm): Shared Leadership
  • October 15th (In-person Limerick ESC 5pm-7pm):Working with Parents
  • October 22nd (Online 4pm-6pm): Developing Resilience for School Leadership
  • November 5th (In-person Limerick ESC 5pm-7pm):LAOS & SSE – Critical Documents for Effective School Leadership
  • November 12th (Online 4pm-6pm):Psychology of Teams & Psychology of Leadership
  • November 19th (In-person Limerick ESC 5pm-7pm):Communication for Effective Leadership
  • November 26th (Online 4pm-6pm):Examination of Motivation
  • December 3rd (In-person Limerick ESC 5pm-7pm): Exploring How Learning Outcomes from Course can Impact Current Practice / Stepping into School Leadership 2: Myths & Mindsets
