Wellbeing for Students. Part 2: The Prescription for Regulation. Emotions, Energy and Everyday Coping

Bee Ready Series - Wellbeing for Students
Part 2: The Prescription for Regulation. Emotions, Energy and Everyday Coping
Supporting wellbeing is not about keeping students calm all the time. It is about helping them recognise what is happening within their bodies and emotions, communicate their needs and gradually develop strategies that genuinely work for them.
This session explores emotional literacy, sensory and movement needs, regulation, rest, overwhelm and individual coping preferences. It will also challenge the idea that one regulation strategy should work for every student.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Recognise possible signs of emotional, sensory and cognitive overload in students.
- Support students to notice and communicate emotions, body signals and regulation needs.
- Develop a flexible range of regulation strategies rather than relying on one-size-fits-all approaches.
- Distinguish between genuine regulation, compliance, avoidance and temporary suppression of distress.
