NEPS: invest in play® (iiP) Educator Programme: A Relational Approach
Expressions of interest are invited from teachers in DEIS schools to participate in this new NEPS programme:
invest in play® (iiP) Educator Programme: A Relational Approach
The programme aims to support the development of emotionally supportive classrooms where every child can thrive. The programme helps educators to build nurturing learning environments, use evidence-informed strategies to support children’s interactions and emotional regulation, and feel confident and supported in their practice. It also promotes responsive teaching to meet diverse learner needs, encourages playful learning and the inclusion of children’s voices in daily routines and activities, and strengthens relationships between educators, students, and their families.
The training will be delivered in Limerick Education Support Centre.
Programme structure and arrangements:
Delivered over three full-day sessions, September 24th, October 22nd and November 26th 2026
Substitution cover, lunch, and course materials will be provided for teachers from DEIS schools. Please note that travel expenses are not covered
Schools are asked, where possible, to nominate two teachers
Attendance at all three sessions is mandatory
Teachers participating in the programme will be required to:
Complete assigned reading
Practise and apply strategies in their classroom
Develop and implement support plans as part of the training
Part of this training will involve reflection on a support plan for an individual child. It is important to note that the Facilitator’s role will be to guide the application of the principles of the programme to the support plan and cannot be considered a psychological service to that child. Schools should ensure that any support plans developed align with school policy and adhere to procedures regarding parental consent and involvement.
Register your interest here - Successful applicants will be informed on September 11th.
