FreshFilm Ireland's Young Filmmaker of the Year - 2023

Please find a notice from FreshFilm, 1 John's Square, Limerick regarding their upcoming FreshFilm Ireland's Young Filmmaker of the Year - 2023

Dear School,

We are enclosing our 2023 entry form for Ireland’s Young Filmmaker of The Year and we would really appreciate it if you could forward our information to primary or secondary school groups in your area that have already made or intend to make films with children and young people. We accept films up to 15 minutes in duration in any style and on any topic. Schools can also enter online at www.freshfilm.ie

The closing date for receipt of entries is

FRIDAY 20TH JANUARY 2023

If any of your colleagues or schools would like some free inspiration for filmmaking, there are films to view on our website and on our YouTube channel. For those new to filmmaking, our Fresh Film School short video tutorials are available to view in the Resources section of our website, there are also peer made tutorials on our channel. The You Judge It programme is also a great way to introduce filmmaking by and for children and young people.

You Judge It A film jury in the classroom Watch, Discuss, Vote

The short film collections (40 - 45 minutes) are made by 13 - 19 year old students from all over the world and offer a variety of themes and genres, from many different cultures and countries. Your students view and then discuss the films before deciding on their winner. You email us with your result and we will send a You Judge It award to your winning film.

This programme is free and simple to host in your school. We will email you with the link, information about the film and some prompt topics to get your discussion started.  Between the viewing, discussions and voting it should take no more than a double period to run. Please let us know if you would be interested in taking part in our 2022 You Judge It programme.

If you would like more information about us or would like any text in digital format for your newsletters please don’t hesitate in contacting us at info@freshfilmfestival.com or at 061 319555. 2023 marks our twenty-seventh annual festival. In 2022 we received 1300+ submissions and we would be delighted to see more films from your area featured in the screenings.

Thank you for your time in dealing with this letter and for supporting the Fresh Film. We endeavour to get your details right but if they are incorrect or if you would prefer that we did not send you our form, please don’t hesitate in contacting us.

If you are interested in any of these options or in the festival just send us an email at info@freshfilmfestival.com  with your query and we will follow up.

The 2023 Application for form is available here.

We look forward to seeing your films in 2023.

Yours sincerely,

Fresh Film
