Limerick DEIS Primary Schools' Literacy & Numeracy Initiative
The Limerick DEIS Primary Schools’ Literacy & Numeracy Initiative and Limerick Education Centre is delighted to launch Promoting Problem-Solving in the Primary Classroom
This booklet is the culmination of a two-year project involving 213 teachers and 518 pupils in DEIS primary schools across Limerick city who worked collaboratively on a range of projects in Numeracy, Science & Technology. The project was enhanced through involvement with Léargas and the Erasmus+ programme.
This publication was written by Emma Keane, (CBS Primary, Sexton St. pictured), Kevin Dillon (Our Lady Queen of Peace, pictured), Suzi Tobin (Presentation Primary) & Martina McGeoghegan (St. John’s Girls & Infant Boys School).
The authors would like to thank all the partners in this initiative: the Limerick City DEIS Primary schools, the Departments of Maths and STEM in Mary Immaculate College, the Social Inclusion Unit in the Department of Education and Léargas.
This booklet will help primary teachers in developing a problem-solving classroom. A copy of the booklet will be sent to all primary schools in the Limerick Education Centre catchment.
