Online seminar on Tuesday 1st June entitled ‘Networking and Collaboration in DEIS schools: Creating Connections and Building Capacity’
This event is supported by the Teaching Council through the Croí John Coolahan Research Support Framework.
The event will be opened by Professor Eugene Wall, President, MIC at 9.45am. Professor Louise Stoll, Professor of Professional Learning, University College London, will deliver an interactive keynote entitled ‘Creating Collaborative Capacity’ at 11.15am.
In addition to sharing practical experience and research findings about the Transforming Education through Dialogue (TED) Project networks of DEIS schools (Dr. Ann Higgins and Ruth Bourke, TED and Peter Jennings, Principal, Our Lady of Lourdes N.S.), there will also be a variety of presenters speaking about how networking and collaboration can create capacity in DEIS schools for inclusion and leadership (Dr. Johanna Fitzgerald and Dr. Joe O’ Connell), home school partnerships (Dr. Sandra Ryan), cultural and linguistic diversity (Dr. Fiodhna Gardiner-Hyland and Áine Lyne), and wellbeing (Dr Fionnuala Tynan, Dr. Margaret Nohilly and Dr. Carol O’ Sullivan). A plenary panel discussion at 2pm will include: Dr. Sandra Ryan, Chair TED, Tracie Tobin, Principal St. Michael’s Infant School/Teaching Council Member, Norma O’ Brien, Principal, Thomond Community College, Kieran Sweeney, Director Limerick Education Centre and Laura Horgan, PDST Leadership Advisor.
