Rockin' the Classroom

Rockin’ the Classroom

In the absence of the opportunity for school children to experience live performances Branar, The Linenhall Arts Centre and The Lime Tree Theatre have joined forces to deliver an exciting new music project for children in Junior & Senior Infants, 1st & 2nd Class.

Rockin’ the Classroom is a multiplatform initiative that brings the music from Branar’s show Rockin’ Rhymes into classes throughout counties Galway, Mayo and Limerick.

Each Class Will Receive:

·         CD album

·         Dedicated education pack for teachers

·         Exclusive access to Rockin’ the Classroom videos

·         A Rockin’ Rhymes Poster

Rockin’ the Classroom offers children and teachers the opportunity to enjoy and explore the songs, discover the world of music and learn about music making.

The project hopes to inspire children to create their own rocking rhymes.

Each class pack is made available for free however a payment of €7.50 is required for P&P for each pack ordered.

The Rockin’ the Classroom pack will be distributed to schools in November 2020.

Please note there is limited availability for this project so early booking is essential.

The closing date is 5pm Friday 23rd October.

Tusla has worked with the DCYA and HSE to developed a universal e-learning programme called ‘Introduction  to Children First’. The programme has been written to support people of all backgrounds and experience in recognising concerns about children and reporting such concerns if they arise. The programme takes approximately 1.5 hours to complete but it can be done in a number of sittings. The programme will allow you to log back in and resume where you left off. It covers topics including:

  • Recognising and reporting child abuse;

  • The role of mandated persons;

  • The responsibilities of organisations working with children to safeguard children;

  • The role of designated liaison persons.
