Art Therapy in Education - Further Education & Training Centre, Kilmallock Road Campus
This 5 day course will introduce teachers to the application and role of art therapy in an educational setting. Through the use of experiential and creative experiences participants will explore their own relationship to creativity and in turn , the importance, impact and potential of creative approaches in education. The course will give details of the theory and practice of art therapy in Ireland, as well as offer an opportunity for participants to explore how they can use creative approaches in their work place, to enhance teaching and learning and leadership.
How will participants’ engagement in this course improve the quality of teaching, learning or leadership in schools?
Through active experiential and reflective participation teachers will have the opportunity to personally and collectively experience and understand how creative approaches to teaching and learning and collaborative leadership in schools may be utilized to the best effect in its application to various ability and curricular areas. Participants will experience the potential power of art, as a teaching, learning, healing tool and will gain new insights regarding the link between creativity and improved cognitive ability, empathy /relational and leadership skills.

All our summer courses are booked on the condition that the course fee is non-refundable. Course Fees are not transferrable to another teacher. Unfortunately, if you wish to cancel your place on one of our courses or you are unable to attend the course, we are not in a position to refund fees.
In the event that the minimum number of participants required do not apply then the Centre will be obliged to cancel the course and all monies will be refunded in full.
