Music and Visual Art in the Primary Classroom
Niall Nicholas, Monaleen N.S., will deliver this Music and Visual Arts summer course which focuses on the creative aspects of the Primary School Curriculum
The aim of the course is to enable participants to start the new school year with an enhanced tool box of skills and knowledge, in order to effectively deliver the visual arts and music curriculum in the classroom. Participants will be engaged ‘hands-on’ throughout this course so learning will be through doing. Working in teams and individually, participants will cover a range of curriculum strands including clay, printing, painting and construction (Visual Arts); rhythm and beat, composition and listening and responding (Music). Throughout the course, there will be a strong emphasis on building skills and confidence. School self-evaluation exercises will be incorporated as an integral part of the course.
