From Endings to Beginnings – Helping your Child to Transition from Primary to Secondary School

Change can be difficult in any circumstance. Even though the transition from primary to secondary is an anticipated transition there is still an impact on familiar roles, relationships and routines. Your child is moving from the familiar to the unfamiliar and how the transition changes the relationships, roles and routines can impact the emotional wellbeing of your child either positively or negatively.
This workshop aims to help you:
• Understand the impact of transitions and learn ways of empowering your child to make the change
• Respond to any feelings arising from the transition in a non-judgemental, child-centred, and playful way
• Learn strategies to facilitate and celebrate a conscious ending of Primary and a hopeful beginning to Secondary
