World Book Day Ideas and Practices

World Book Day takes place on Thursday the 6th of March. This course provides participants with a range of practices and considerations for World Book Day at classroom and whole school levels. The ideas in this webinar can be extended beyond World Book Day to promote reading for pleasure in a range of school settings.
Learning Outcomes:
- Reflect on their current policies and practices for World Book Day
- Appreciate the importance of partnerships with local libraries
- Identity new practices that could be implemented for World Book Day at a classroom and whole school level
- Explore ways in which reading for pleasure could be promoted beyond World Book Day
Tutor bio:
Sarah is a primary school teacher who has recently completed a Masters of Education in Literacy Education in Mary Immaculate College (2022-2024). She has been working as a mainstream class teacher in a DEIS band 1 school for six years. She has a keen interest in children’s literature, CPD, STEM and Green Schools.
