The Wellbeing toolkit for Teachers and School Leaders
The Department of Education has a tool kit for the wellbeing of school staff at both primary and post primary levels. This session will use this powerful and practical framework and principles and will also draw on other time tested, proven wellbeing resources and insights to support staff to boost their wellbeing and wellbeing in their school.
Wellbeing is about being happy, healthy and comfortable. We all have different strengths and tendencies. We all have more and less positive and constructive coping resources that we rely on when under pressure and in different situations.
This session will give school staff pointers that can be used to boost wellbeing and resilience in their lives and schools using five key principles:
- Promoting a sense of safety
- Promoting a sense of calm
- Promoting a sense of self-efficacy and community-efficacy
- Promoting connectedness
- Promoting hope
Learning Outcomes -
- Deep insight into personal wellbeing and how to overcome common barriers to achieving it
- Actionable strategies to establish a daily routine that underpins wellbeing, selfcare and feeling safe physically, psychologically and emotionally
- Practices to feel calm, cool and connected
- Promoting a culture of wellbeing in my school
