Participants will be enabled to count, assess and plan for behaviour interventions in the areas of sensory needs; attention seeking behaviours; tangible demands and escape situations in the classroom. It also aims to help teachers to plan individualised behaviour plans and responses to each situation. The course also aims to explore some of the current theory and best practise in managing behaviours of concern in Irish primary schools.
This course will be taking place in the Limerick Education Centre over 4 afternoons - 06/13/20 and 27 October 2022

Facilitator: Sarah Mackey
Sarah has been teaching for over 20 years in DEIS schools in a variety of roles including infants and SET. She was seconded to the NCSE for three years as a rimary behaviour advisor, visiting schools all over Ireland supporting teachers in managing behaviours that challenge at all levels. She has also completed a M.Ed in Special Educational Needs in Mary immaculate College, specialising in E.B.D.
