Developing the Role of the Deputy Principal. Community of Practice (On Zoom).

Avail of the opportunity to reflect upon and discuss your present role as a Deputy Principal with peer support.  

Set new on the job goals for yourself in carrying out your role.

Build new professional networks.

Develop new easy to use strategies to meet on the job challenges.

Build confidence and raise awareness around areas of school Leadership and Management you wish to improve and develop.

It is proposed the group will meet once a month and the participants will set and co- design the agenda.

The Emphasis of the sessions will be to support resource and strengthen the participants’ leadership and management capacity and capability through raising awareness.

Group facilitator: Ciaran Mc Mahon.

Ciaran is a recently retired Primary School Principal with 27 years on the job experience with qualifications in school leadership to master’s level and also in coaching. He is a mentor for newly appointed principals with the Centre for School leadership. He is also the chairperson of two boards of management, at both primary and second level, and possesses an extensive knowledge of current educational issues at both primary and post primary levels.
