Limerick SENCO Community of Practice (CoP) will have their next meeting on 30 November 2022 at 4pm.
The guest Speaker on the evening will be - Jean Reale B Ed, M Ed & PhD candidate at Trinity College Dublin, She will talk about the are of Assistive Technology for pupils in SEN.
In this session we will look at harnessing the power of inbuilt assistive technology supports in everyday classroom technology, to support ALL learners to achieve their full learning potential. The session aims to support teachers to incorporate the most relevant assistive technologies to support their students it will look at current developments in text to speech, speech to text, translation and writing supports.
The meeting will last a maximum of 90 minutes. The CoP aims to bring together a network of Principals, Deputy Principals, SEN Co-ordinators and Special Education teachers working in Limerick Primary schools.
There will be a strong social dimension to this meeting as members of the CoP network meet with each other and share ideas from their schools. Dr Margaret Egan (MIC) will also provide input on the Student Support file and guide the group in conducting a needs analysis.
We are actively looking to expand the CoP so if there are any other teachers in your school who are interested, please invite them along. Tea and refreshments will be provided at the beginning of this meeting.
