Introductory Course in Restorative Practice - online course (repeat)
This is a repeat of the online courses, which commenced on 27 April and 15 May.
Please note this is an online course. If you have any queries please email Joe Power (course tutor) - respracdevoff@gmail.com
The course will commence on Monday, 8 June, at 4.30 p.m.
What: 4 week online introduction to Restorative Practices
This course will give you an introduction and insight into the philosophy and skills of RP. It will explain the origins of RP, how it is a different approach to "traditional discipline" (but not a soft option). Finally, it will give you simple tools and strategies to bring to your classroom so you can improve the relationships and learning outcomes of your students.
Who: Open to primary and secondary teachers, SNA's and special ed teachers
Where: From the comfort of your own home
Participants must have access to email to receive weekly notices from the facilitator, and download the video conferencing app Zoom (free service). Participants learn through a mix of suggested reading/videos and a weekly Zoom video conference. The first Zoom session is Monday, 8 June, at 4.30pm and will be scheduled by the facilitator (not as complicated as it sounds).
When: The program lasts 2 weeks over four evenings - 8 June to 19 June (8, 12, 15 and 19 June)
It is anticipated that participants spend 45-60 minutes at self directed work each week and that the zoom session should last 70-80 minutes (total workload should be 8 hours approx). Additional questions can be answered in advance of or during the first session.
Note the course tutor, Joe Power, will require access to your email address in order to access his online Zoom webinar.
