The Post - Primary Flipped Classroom
Join us for an engaging Flipped Classroom Workshop, featuring two insightful sessions designed to enhance your teaching skills. In session one, you will be introduced to the flipped classroom model, its benefits, and explore the different types and sources of existing content available to support your teaching. You will also gain valuable hands-on experience creating your own multimedia content for your subject in an ethical manner.
In session two, you will learn how to plan for a successful implementation of the three stages of the flipped classroom, with a focus on supporting student engagement and active learning. You will also explore different methodologies to promote student engagement, and the importance of active student participation in the learning process. Facilitator:Mary Frawley
Mary is a qualified secondary school teacher. She completed her PhD in Physics in 2014, in the field of Experimental Optics. She has 10 years of classroom experience, and is particularly interested in promoting STEM for girls, through mentoring for the BTYSTE and Maths Olympiad in Limerick. She has an AP2 post with responsibility for leading learning and teaching in Digital Technologies, as part of the core SSE team in her school.
