These workshops support to complete Section 1 and 2 of the Art History and Appreciation written paper. Teachers can choose to focus the workshop on either of the following areas:

A: Art in Ireland (20th Century) or Bronze Age artworks

B: European Art

Workshop A&B combined: Art in Ireland and Europe in the 20th Century.

Learning Outcomes:

·         Understanding of the Bronze Age period having evaluated objects for their form, function, decoration and the techniques used

·         Learned and applied critical and visual language when assessing, understanding, and appreciating Irish and/or European art from 20th century

Completed structured written analysis of 20th century artworks including subject matter, composition, style, media/materials, techniques, and influences
