Training will cover a range of free literacy support software and strategies available to Windows/laptop users, to support students with dyslexia/specific learning disabilities.
The strategies covered in this course are comparable to those in commercial software, such as Read & Write Gold and ClaroRead, commonly recommended for students with specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia.
Text to speech, creating Audio Files & alternative formats, creating summaries, utilizing free electronic Dictionary & picture dictionaries, OCR(Optical Character recognition) or scan and read technologies.
Participants will need basic computer skills such as being able to open folders and programs; file documents’ use right and left click on a mouse. Knowledge of specialist software or advanced skills are not required.
